We left our visit at Heel & Toe feeling very emotional, and extremely thankful that charities like this exist after seeing how reliant so many families are on the charity itself, and the donations they receive.

The visit itself has inspired GBA to help more in the future, so watch this space for more charitable assistance.

GBA Giving Back to Worthy Causes

At the GBA Logistics Annual Conference this year, the business made the heartfelt decision to support various charities in the regions where our depots and facilities are located.

At the Seaham depot, the Team chose to donate to Heel & Toe Children’s Charity.

The charity provides a range of therapies to children with disabilities in the Northeast, including Hydrotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Conductive Education, amongst many others.

They receive no government funding, so to provide these services to families at a subsidised rate, the charity must raise a massive £1,000,000 per year through donations and fundraising, which for a small local charity, is quite a task.

As a thank you for our support and donation, Heel & Toe extended an invitation to GBA to witness their invaluable work first-hand.

During the visit, we toured their two centres dedicated to enhancing children’s mobility, self-esteem, and social skills. Witnessing the interaction between the children and their therapists was truly moving. It was a reminder of the resilience and joy that can blossom even in the face of adversity with various disabilities.

One of their most popular services is the Hydrotherapy pool, which is greatly beneficial for anyone with conditions such as ASD and Cerebral Palsy.

Hydrotherapy is especially important to children with physical disabilities because it gives them a sense of freedom, and physical relief.
